Honeymooners over-pack. Every time. Here, for the seventh year running, is our actual packing list — the one we send to clients three days before they fly out.
Documents: passport, visa prints, one digital copy in the cloud, one physical copy in a separate bag. Flight confirmations printed (airports on the subcontinent still occasionally ask). Travel insurance details on your phone's lock screen.
Clothes (for 7 days, tropical): 4 linen shirts, 2 t-shirts, 3 shorts or light trousers, 2 swimsuits, one light sweater for air-conditioned over-enthusiasm, one pair of sneakers, one pair of slippers, zero heels. Dressy one evening: a light collared shirt or a simple saree/kurta.
Things people forget: a plug adaptor (Universal, £5, Amazon), a power bank for the airport wait, mosquito repellent (do not trust the resort's version), a small USB speaker for the villa, and — do not laugh — a pack of Parle-G. Day four in a five-star resort, you will crave it.
What to leave behind: heavy makeup, three-piece suits, a second laptop, anxiety. You have packed enough.
