Dubai is not one city — it is six, cleverly packaged as one. The old Dubai across the creek, the new Dubai of the marina and downtown, the desert, the Palm, the airport, and a shopping mall the size of a small country. A first-timer's three days should touch four of those six, politely.
Day one: Old Dubai — abra across the creek (₹4, five minutes, the best-value ride in the city), the gold souk, dinner at Al Ustad Special Kabab in Bur Dubai. Day two: downtown — At the Top Burj Khalifa (book the 124+148 combo, not 124-only — the extra floor is worth the money), Dubai Fountain at 8pm, and a late dinner at Ossiano in Atlantis if you want the aquarium theatre.
Day three is desert: a private camp (Platinum Heritage, not the cheap ones) for a dune drive, falconry, and a quiet bedouin dinner under the stars. Skip the quad bikes — they break the spell.
What to skip: Global Village, Miracle Garden, IMG Worlds, and any cruise that says 'cultural dinner' on the brochure. What to add if you have a fourth day: a long brunch at Bab Al Shams and a slow evening at Al Seef, where the old wind-towers have been rebuilt beautifully.
